Amy was born and raised in Sonora where she attended grammar school, high school, and Columbia College.  After graduating from Sonora High School in 2005 and a brief excursion to Europe for a few weeks, Amy entered Columbia College in fall of 2005 and recently completed her AA in liberal studies with honors in December 2007 and participated in the official graduation ceremony at the end of spring semester 2008. She is currently attending San Francisco State University where she will be graduating in May 2009 with a BA in anthropology and a minor in history.

During the time she attended Columbia College, Amy’s educational perspective and goals were changed thanks to Professor Hamilton and Dr Clarke. Rather than simply attending class and doing homework, Amy began taking a much more active role in her education and strove to maintain a full schedule of demanding courses and other activities. This ambitious attitude has been of great help to her in her recent adventure in the “city by the bay.” Not only is Amy striving to continue the same type of demanding course schedule, but also exploring San Francisco and beginning to enter into a new cultural experience.

In her spare time, Amy enjoys numerous arts and crafts projects such as sewing historical clothing, knitting, crocheting, spending time with her friends, doing independent research, and studying languages.
