Colleen Dolan studied at Columbia College with Professors Paula Clarke and Ted Hamilton in 2003 and 2004. She studied cultural anthropology and physical geography. After graduating from Columbia College, Colleen transferred to UC Davis where she studied Community and Regional Development and Contemporary Leadership. From the very beginning of her studies at UC Davis, Colleen relied upon the academic skills that she acquired while studying with Professors Clarke and Hamilton: form relationships with professors by utilizing office hours, actively read and take notes, ask questions, and take responsibility for your own education. While enrolled at UC Davis, Colleen studied community governance in Germany, she interned at the United Nations Information Center in Washington D.C. and she coordinated an international symposium on child welfare for the UCD Human Development Department. Colleen graduated with highest honors and was named student of the year by her department's faculty. She spent six months in Chile volunteering with the English Opens Doors Program administered by the UNDP and Chilean Ministry of Education. Colleen is now Coordinator of Mentoring Programs at the Calaveras County office of Education.
